I Will Follow
Published in Paperback by Philokalia Books (01 April, 2003)
Authors: Clare Cook and Bethany Patchin
Average review score:

Two young women who are determined to have romance
The collaborative literary effort of Clare Cook and Bethany Patchin, I Will Follow is the engaging story of 16-year-old Meg Atwell and her sister, two young women who are determined to have romance in their lives. But an extended trip to Mexico places the girls in a remarkable and unfamiliar new world, and both of them must put their personal beliefs to the test in this deftly written, quite romantic, and impressively introspective novel.

A Wonderful Book by Amazing Women!
My friends, Bethany and Clare have hit a home run with the story of Meg and Diego...The manuscript was good, the finished product is awsome! Way to go to my friends!

A pure, powerful, potent piece of writing!
I Will Follow is a piercing look at a young girl's heart and inspires and encourages us to face the struggles of the heart head on. Romance is a gift from God but often abused. This book challenges us to look higher than instant gratification.
You won't be able to put it down!

The Art is as Great as the Book
The cover is terriffic art and definitely represents the quality of the content of this book. I bought the book for the cover to frame and put on my wall. Then I read it. Love the illustrations I would like to see more of this artist's work in other books like this - well worth the read.

Holy Cow !! You Can Judge a Book By Its Cover!!!!
This is a wonderful collection of pioneering work in the field. I bought the book just for the incredible cover. Then I became curious and read it. Well worth the read. The quality of the work inside matched the cover. (By the way the illustrations are outstanding as well.)

Read
This is an eye opening book. Best book that I have read this year. The light that enters your eyes travels by way of the optic nerve to the visual cortex of the brain to be further interpreted but the optic nerve also branches off into.......the hypothalmus, the pineal gland, the pituitary gland. Light, sunlight, phototherapy can change the function of all endocrine glands [chakras] Have you thought lately about the sun..... and that the sunlight entering your eyes randomly or intentionally could change your outlook or better your health? See How They Run

You can't stop reading
Since I started to read this book I just couldn't, stop doing it, is an amazing suspense story from the first page till the last page, and the way that Montana fights against the bad guys is not out of reality at all, meanwhile you learn a little bit of autism boys.

GOOD SUSPENSE
This book got better and better as the pages flew by and tension mounted... Eight year old autistic twins, Rickie and Trace, attended a special school........while out in the school playground with their teacher, Laura Stoner, they witnessed an elderly man getting gunned down right in front of them!! As with most autistics, they had a gift for details with numbers.....they repeated the license plate number, how many shots were fired, and described the murderer.......what they had witnessed was the execution of a mafia don.... Ex-cop turned assistant U.S. attorney, Mike Montana, was in charge of protecting both Laura and the twins....Laura had no option other than to trust him while he moved them around from one state to another, running from the villains and not knowing who in the US government, has betrayed them!! This story will have you holding your breath when the good guys confront the bad guys!!

If you are getting a little weary of Mary Higgins Clark ....
I say it again -- if you are getting a little weary of Mary Higgins Clark, then try Bethany Campbell's thrillers. I picked this one up out of the blue (on a whim) and was hooked from page one. Well drawn characters, a very tense plot, and plenty of empathy for people who are coping with children with problems. Any mother or teacher can relate to this book, and be carried along by a fast moving, credible plot as well. Bethany Campbell's publishers should be promoting her like crazy, because there is a heap of talent in this lady.

Body Scissors: A Tom Bethany Mystery
Published in Hardcover by Pocket Star (November, 1990)
Authors: Jerome Doolittle and Bill Grose
Average review score:

Doolittle is Doing a LOT!
First time ever reviewing for Amazon, although I've bought plenty. Why bother? Because Jerome Doolittle's Body Scissor's is worth the read and the write. If you enjoy Crais, Parker et al, you will enjoy Jerome's style as well. Tom Bethany is just the guy I'd like to be--if I were a guy. :-) Read his earlier works- grow with his characters.

Why is this Book not a Best seller !
BODY SCISSORS BY JEROME DOOLITTLE

The first novel to introduce Tom Bethany, a quirky, enigmantic PI, with a mysterious past, ex-Air America, Ex-CIA, ex-Harvard, and a Semi-Pro Wrestler, now acting as Left Wing Muscle. The character is very much like the Writer in background, and if you missed Doolittle?s books you are in for a suprise. They really predate the Lehane, Burke Hiasson, Harlan Coben and Crais books, Very funny, ironic, Trageic but ultimately uplifting.

The story centres on Bethany being hired to check up on the past of a US Senator, due to be enrolled as Secretary of State. The Repubulicans hire Tough Guy Tom Bethany to check out any skeleton?s in the Professors Closet, and the adventure gets vary hairy, and sureall. The climax is very disturbing, and not for the faint of heart.

One of the best books I?ve read in a long time, cozy, but very shocking, as it lulls you into a false sense of security. Catches you on Page one, and then the squeeze is on. Thankfully back in print.

Better than Spenser!
Doolittle raps out hit after hit in the hard-boiled mystery category. The true mystery is why he is not a best-selling star. If you like caustic wit, a progressive social consciousness, and a vicarious chance to hit back at the corrupt rich and powerful, check this book out.

The Everything Dog Training and Tricks Book: Turn the Most Mischievous Canine into a Well-Behaved Dog Who Knows a Few Tricks (Everything Series)
Published in Paperback by Adams Media Corporation (November, 2002)
Authors: Gerilyn J. Bielakiewicz, Bethany Brown, and Christel A. Shea
Average review score:

An enthusiastically recommended instructional guide
The Everything Dog Training And Tricks Books by experienced dog trainer Gerilyn Bielakiewicz (cofounder of Canine University) is a thoroughly "user friendly" and enthusiastically recommended instructional guide to turning even the most mischievous and high spirited dog into a well-behaved canine companion. Clear and invaluable information will enable the reader to control their dog's unwanted behaviors, including successfully dealing with housebreaking, introductions, the use of a clicker, and walking on a leash. The Everything Dog Training And Tricks Books also provides clear information on teaching a dog such tricks as getting the phone, "kissing", pushing a baby carriage, waving and "high five". Enhanced with dozens of photographs, The Everything Dog Training And Tricks Books offers a wealth of training tips, tricks, and techniques that will solve virtually any behavior issue and have any dog and owner team playing games and having fun together.

Full of good advice and step-by-step directions
(Disclaimer: I volunteer at Canine University, the author's dog-training school.)

This is a fabulous book!

This book brought home to me why it is important to teach dogs tricks in addition to "basic training." It makes training more fun for both the owner and the dog, and gives the dog something to do other than just behave :).

I am a complete convert to clicker training. I had used positive reinforcement to do basic training with my dog, but after taking classes at Canine U and introducing my dog to a clicker, she became a "thinking dog" who is so much easier and fun to train.

Pure GENIOUS!
This book has EVERYTHING (really)! I have a crazy out-of-control brittany spaniel who has given me no peace and quiet since the day he stepped in my door, but I bought this book yesterday and I was just amazed at how much detail it goes into with solutions for different naughty behaviors and training tips. I tried a few techniques already on my dog and he is definately responding. Thanks so much! This is exactly what I've been looking all over for. This book is SO GOOD. I highly recommend it!

Monster Manners
Published in Paperback by Houghton Mifflin Co (18 August, 1997)
Authors: Andrew Glass and Bethany Roberts
Average review score:

A wonderful book my children will no doubt remember always.
This book is so cute and the illustrations are really wonderful. It is an easy read and your 5-6 year olds will soon pick up the words. It is my 3 1/2-year-old and 5-year-old's favorite book.

I believe that this book will mean as much to them when they are adults, as Three Billy Goats Gruff means to me. It is a fun read when you change your voice. I really enjoy it myself. Never boring no matter how many times you read it to them, and it teachs a great lesson to boot.

Fun Book on Manners- A Must!
Like a spoonful of sugar, this fun book on manners makes lessons go down with giggles. With lots of monster exaggeration ("spaghetti sauce on our hair is nice", "stop eating my socks!"), these monsters portray typical etiquette and behavior situations that children encounter. They say please, thank you, and excuse me, return borrowed items, pick up their toys, do their chores, bathe, and exibit good sportsmanship. Sometimes they forget their manners and gobble and grab; sometimes they remember and politely pass the peas. Sometimes they quarrel; sometimes they hug. The illustrations of three lovable, silly monsters are colorful and playful and provide lots of visual humor. In the classroom, this book can be a springboard for discussion or for role-playing good and bad manners. This book is a hit with kids!

Some monsters your kids can relate to
Quick, name the most unmannerly group of characters on earth. No, besides a bunch preschoolers overdue for a nap. Monsters, right? According to Bethany Roberts, even monsters have manners sometimes. This book, written in verse, shows monsters at their worst and at their best. For example, "They might be very messy, / and leave things where they drop. / But they sometimes clean their rooms / and dust and scrub and mop." Every activity the monsters do is something kids can relate to, such as tearing up toys on bad manners days, and happily putting them away and repairing the broken ones on good manners days. Andrew Glass's monsters are warm and fuzzy. No need to worry about nightmares from this book. In fact, these monsters are an awful lot like little kids, who may sometimes forget their manners, but sometimes they don't.

Stack-n-Whackier Quilts (Another Magic Stack-n-Whack(tm) Book)
Published in Paperback by Collector Books (August, 2001)
Author: Bethany S. Reynolds
Average review score:

Amazing! Neat technique! Beautiful projects! Buy it!!!!
This is the first "stack n whack" book that I've purchased. I bought it because of the butterfly quilt pattern, but there are many other projects that will catch your eye and send you running to the fabric store! The basic principle of this technique is to utilize the repetition of patterns within fabric in a consistent way to create "kaleidoscopic" effects in your quilt design. It does take a little careful reading to understand the technique, and how the "dynamics" of the fabric will matter to the design, but the book has very good directions, and great photos.

All in all there are 12 designs which demonstrate 3 different techniques:
1 - Stack n Whack, which is the "simplest" form
2 - Mirror image magic, which relies on using both the right and wrong side of the fabric for a different effect
3 - Stack n select, a more selective method of cutting to provide more control to the end design.

The variability in the appearance that can be achieved through the use of one fabric and this technique is amazing. I can't wait to start my first project!

Neat new ideas
I recently read the new book Stack and Whackier and really liked it. The designs are fresh and new and I made the cover quilt easily and fast from the directions in the book. I used an oriental print for the box tops and it is stunning. I also perused the rest of the designs as I was looking for a class to teach. The designs are quite varied and most wouldn't be classed as Stack and Whack upon first glance. I especially liked the classification of the designs as Easy, Intermediate or Advanced although I made the cover quilt which was classified as Intermediate but which I thought wasn't hard at all. Anyone with some knowledge of quilting techniques should have no trouble with that one. A must for the library of anyone who likes the Stack and Whack technique.

Another Wonderful Book
This book continues with Bethany's wonderful methods of transforming fabric into great kaleidoscopic blocks. The directions are extremely well written for use, even by people who have never done Stack&Whack quilt blocks before.

I love the new shapes that Bethany is using, since I can use smaller amounts of my fabrics with some of the easier shapes.

I'll be amazing my friends soon with some more wonderful quilts from these patterns!!

Stacey's Broken Heart (Baby-Sitters Club, 99)
Published in Paperback by Scholastic (August, 1996)
Authors: Ann Matthews Martin, Jean Feiwel, and Bethany Buck
Average review score:

"Stacey's Broken Heart"
"Stacey's Broken Heart" is a book that focuses on Stacey, the treasurer of the Baby-sitters Club. She will be gone for a week and is confused about her boyfriend, Robert. She thinks she might be afraid of loosing him.

Ohhh...kind of sad, but necessary...
Poor Stacey! Robert broke her heart. I liked how it showed that even though Stacey's heart is broken, she goes on with her life. I liked how supportive her mom was. It tells you that, no, not all romances are "happily ever after"...only a tiny percent of teen romances last a lifetime. I have the feeling Mary Anne and Logan are next in line for splitsville...just a gut feeling.

I like it as much as I like Claudia and the Terrible Truth
The book was good and thick and suspenseful. It was a well-written and enjoyable book. I can't really decide if my favorite book is Stacey's Broken Heart or Claudia and the Terrible Truth. They're both good stories but Claudia and the Terrible Truth is too short.
